Terms & Conditions

By purchasing a work from J.O.A. (Joan of Arts Atelier), you agree to the following terms:

1. Authenticity & Originality

Each artwork is a unique, one-of-a-kind creation by Joan of Arts. Every original painting is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist. This document serves as your proof of ownership and should be kept in a safe place.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

When you buy a painting, you own the physical object. However, the Copyright (the right to reproduce the image) remains with the artist.

  • You may not print copies, sell posters, or use the image for commercial purposes without written permission from J.O.A.

  • The artist reserves the right to use images of the work for her portfolio, social media, and future publications.

3. The Nature of the Material (Industrial Drop Cloth)

You are purchasing a work created on raw industrial drop cloth.

  • Texture & "Imperfections": Variations in the weave, minor fraying at the edges, or small irregularities in the fabric are intentional and part of the "Raw/Unfiltered" aesthetic. These are not considered defects but are essential to the character of the work.

  • Color: While I photograph my work in natural light, colors may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.

4. Payment & Pricing

  • All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise stated.

  • Works will only be dispatched once full payment has been cleared.

  • For international orders, any import duties or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

5. Shipping & Handling

  • All large-scale works are shipped rolled for safety.

  • J.O.A. is not responsible for any delays caused by customs or international shipping carriers, though we will assist in tracking and insurance claims if a package is lost.

6. Stretching & Framing Liability

  • Once the artwork is delivered, it is the buyer’s responsibility to handle it with care.

  • Important: J.O.A. is not liable for any damage that occurs during the stretching or framing process at your local framer. We recommend only using professional, experienced art framers.

7. Returns & Refunds

  • You have 7 days from the date of delivery to request a return.

  • The work must be returned in its original, rolled condition.

  • Custom Commissions: Sales of custom-commissioned paintings are final and cannot be returned or refunded.
