JoanOfArts | Meet Joan, Fidel, and Cheque: Art & Murals
They say you should never work with animals or children, but they clearly haven't met my business partners.
If you see a mural being painted somewhere or a studio covered in tropical colors, youāll probably find me in the middle of itāusually flanked by two very important assistants: Fidel and Cheque.
The Studio on Six Legs Fidel and Cheque aren't just my dogs; they are my quality control team. Whether Iām tucked away in my atelier working on a new batch of Macaw totes or standing on a ladder painting a statement wall for a client, these two are never far away. Fidel usually handles "Security" (napping on my drop cloths), while Cheque specializes in "Moral Support" (waiting for the exact moment I have wet paint on my hands to ask for a scratch).
Why I Do This My work has always been about bringing life into a space. I grew up obsessed with the kind of colors that make you stop in your tracksāelectric blues, sunset oranges, and every shade of a birdās wing. I realized that art shouldn't just sit in a gold frame in a quiet gallery. It should be on your walls, your furniture, and even the bag you carry to the market.
It should be as "alive" as the dogs running around my feet.
Beyond the Canvas JoanOfArts started because I wanted to prove that everythingĀ is a potential canvas.
That old cabinet? Itās a masterpiece waiting to happen.
That boring white wall in your cafe? Itās a tropical jungle in disguise.
That plain tote bag? Itās a way to carry a piece of art wherever you go.
If youāre here for a custom commission, just know that when you hire me, youāre hiring the whole crew. I bring the paint, the vision, andāif the client allowsātwo very good boys to keep us company while the magic happens.
Letās Make Something Wild Iām so glad youāve found my corner of the internet. Take a look at the shop, check out my recent murals, and if you have a wild idea for a project, drop me a message.Ā I promise to get back to you fast (as soon as I finish throwing the ball for Cheque).
Stay bold,
Joan (plus Fidel & Cheque)
