I Will Remember You | Large Scale Reclaimed Textile Painting

This is a monumental exploration of memory, ancestry, and the textures of time. Measuring a staggering 185x187 cm, it was created not on a standard canvas, but on an old, reclaimed sheet—a piece of fabric that already had a story before I ever touched it.

I chose to create this on a vintage bedsheet as a metaphor for the Third Culture Kid (TCK) experience. It is about taking something common or "left behind" and turning it into a sovereign, unforgettable statement. This Painting serves as a visual vow of presence and a tribute to the people we left behind. In the transient life of a TCK, we carry the faces of those who shaped us, this painting captures that bittersweet ache of what remains.

This Large Scale Reclaimed Textile Painting is a defiant reminder of who we are, where we’ve been, and the souls we continue to carry with us. This is a unique, one-of-a-kind painting  for a space that demands art with a true soul.
